Obamacare and Pancreatic Cancer

For those that are confused about Obamacare, here is a handy site to explain it: http://www.healthcare.gov

My insurance provider referenced me there when they told me that pancreatic cancer genetic testing is not covered under preventative care. They cover things like breast cancer, colon cancer, etc. -why not pancan? Its the only one I think that kills you before you have a chance to do anything....

Obamacare will at least expand the types of preventative care covered by my insurance (though I'm not yet clear if this includes pancreatic cancer). How this will play out in reality -well I have too much law school reading to find out right now. But in my view, preventative care is always a good thing and should be encouraged -I think it saves money and lives?

"Ruth Bader Ginsburg: In 2009, the Supreme Court Justice underwent surgery to treat pancreatic cancer. It was detected during an annual health exam and was in the very early stages of the disease. People with early stage pancreatic cancer generally have better outcomes than those diagnosed in later stages. Ginsburg continues to serve as a Supreme Court Justice."

Just to add my story into the mix.
